CBE MBEYA CELECRATES "CAREER AND INCUBATION" DAY



The College of Business Education (CBE) Mbeya campus has joined other campuses in Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, and Mwanza in commemorating the "Career and Incubation" day. The event took place today, April 19, 2024. On this significant day, various activities were carried out, including exhibitions of products from entrepreneurs and presentations on various topics focusing on showcasing various opportunities within our communities.

In addition to other distinguished guests, the event was attended by representatives from entrepreneurial clubs from seven secondary schools in Mbeya city. Their presence sparked emotions among the participants, especially as they described the activities carried out by their clubs. Among other things are involved in production of various goods and vegetable gardening. All these activities are sponsored by the College. This sponsorship is part of the College's efforts to support the regional campaign for better nutrition in secondary schools. The schools that participated include Iwambi, Ihanga, Mwakibete, Iganzo, Lyoto, Uyole, and Ilomba secondary school. 

Speaking at the event, the Director of "GET TOGETHER," Mr. Nelson J. Kisanga, commended CBE for initiating the Incubation program. Mr. Kisanga pledged to collaborate with the College in enhancing the value of products produced by entrepreneurs. Another speaker, Ms. Lina King, emphasized that students should show courage in engaging in entrepreneurship to improve their economic status.

The Manager of TCIAA Mbeya Region, Mr. Mushn A. Mkongo, who was also one of the speakers at the event, stated that the Atamizi program holds great significance, and TCIAA will continue to provide support in this program to empower students to understand the importance of following all necessary procedures in business/entrepreneurship. Mr. Mkongo also urged students to abandon the misconception that only those who fail academically engage in entrepreneurship. He further stated that it is time for CBE to consider how to make this day an important regional event and involve more stakeholders such as banks and other government institutions. This will lead to more stakeholders recognizing the efforts of the College.

Recognizing the College's role in nurturing student talents and ideas, Mr. Jeremiah Tumaini, Director of CBE Mbeya Campus, thanked all stakeholders for their support in making the event a success. He pledged to expand the event to reach more beneficiaries.

In her speech, the guest of honor at the event, Acting Manager of SIDO, Ms. Salma A. Galasi, expressed her pleasure with the event and commended the College for initiating the Atamizi/Incubation program. She also praised the secondary schools and other stakeholders, including TCCIA, BRELA, and Linner King, for participating in the event. She said that what CBE is doing has shown light, and she hopes that in a few years, there will be more entrepreneurs in the country. Finally, Ms. Galasi urged students to seize the valuable opportunity provided by the College and other enabling institutions.
